Does “Eating Right” Fuel Your Body?

Many of us focus on eating foods that are “good for us,” such as fruits, vegetables, lean meats, etc. to maintain good health. While proper diet is important, the fact of the matter is we don’t receive adequate nutrition from diet alone.

Vitamins and minerals are necessary nutrients for bodily function and the prevention of disease because they work together to grow, repair and maintain your entire body. (Cells, organs, systems and skeleton.)
Vitamin and Mineral Supplementation Is Necessary for the Following Reasons:
*Nutrient losses from our soil, (environmental factors and herbicidal pesticides used on crops leave them with low nutritional value)

* Poor digestion

* Overcooking, microwave cooking, food storage (length of storage and freezing can deplete the nutrient value of most foods)

* Stress and emotional or physical issues, CAN increase the body’s requirement for vitamins and minerals.

According to the AMA (American Medical Association), in a 26,000 person study of people who did not take vitamins, not one person received the nutritional requirements needed. Additionally, insufficient vitamin intake is apparently the cause of fatigue, illness and chronic disease because most people do not consume enough vitamins by diet alone.

My experience since taking a liquid vitamin containing minerals is that I have no chronic issues, rarely get sick; and, if I do it is less intense and short term.

    Good advice. I’ve added a probiotic along with my vitamins and have rarely been sick since.

    Judy, thank you for this informative article. I appreciated the large study you mentioned from AMA supporting the need for supplementation.
