Today’s post is written by guest blogger Meli Horowitz Independent Distributor with SendOutCards.
The word gratitude is a noun meaning the state of being grateful; a feeling of thankfulness or appreciation. It can be expressed in any number of ways: verbally, in person or by phone, by e-mail or Facebook. It can also be done in writing, through a letter or a greeting card.
Think about the people in your life. The friends who have helped you through a difficult time, the people who have taught you a valuable lesson, the people who taught you something worthwhile, the people who made you feel appreciated and special, the people you most enjoy spending time with.
When you consider how these people have influenced your life, imagine what your words could mean for them. Let them know how you feel while they are still alive. People deserve to hear what you have to say while they are still living. You’ll be amazed at how your life will change for the better when you express your gratitude to the people in your life.
When was the last time someone showed you they appreciated you? How did they demonstrate their appreciation? When was last time you received a letter or card in the mail? How did it make you feel?
According to a relationship marketing survey, 97% of our mail is junk which means that only 3% of the mail we receive is actually personal.
When was the last time you considered opening your mail to be anything other than clicking your inbox?
When was the last time you expressed appreciation to someone else?
Here is my challenge:
I challenge you to express gratitude to at least 1 person every day, anywhere in the world, for any reason, for 30 consecutive days by sending a real greeting card with a heartfelt message.
Acts of kindness, love and support can be taking place all around us. Yet, millions of people carrying out these small acts are going unnoticed and unappreciated. It’s up to each of us to thank the one and together, express gratitude to millions.
At the end of the 30 days, it will be interesting to see who is the most grateful. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if you answered… YOURSELF!!
