I’d like you to picture this: You have the unwavering support from the people who mean the most to you to go for your goals. How does it feel emotionally? How does it feel physically? With that type of unwavering support, do you believe you can achieve your goals?
Here are some synonyms for the word unwavering: Firm; unshakable; unfaltering; unbendable; steadfast; steady. Imagine now that those around you supported your hopes and dreams with unwavering support. Would you become more motivated to succeed? Would you have a more solid belief in your ability to succeed?
Unwavering support and belief doesn’t just come from others; you must also give yourself unwavering support. Belief in yourself and your goals produce the inner motivators that lead to success.
Let me ask you these questions:
1. Have you set your personal and professional goals for the next six to twelve months? If not, what’s stopping you? Is it belief in yourself or lack of support from others?
2. When you begin something new or start to do something you want to achieve, how do those closest to you react? Is it positive, neutral, uninterested or discouraging? If you are not receiving encouragement or support, what will you choose to do about it?
3. Do you believe, without an ounce of doubt, in your ability to succeed and achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself? If not, why not?
Sometimes it’s not possible to get the emotional and physical support you want or feel you need and deserve from the people in your life. There will be people who will not or cannot believe in you and your dreams. You can though believe in yourself and give yourself the unwavering support to go for your goals and live the life of your dreams. The unwavering support that will ultimately make the difference between success and giving up, is the unwavering support you are willing to give yourself.
Here’s a quotation from actor Halle Berry that seems to say it all, “There have been so many people who have said to me, ‘You can’t do that,’ but I’ve had an innate belief that they were wrong. Be unwavering in your approach.”
